Also very important meeting coming up in june and july 19th Speaking of Traffic solutions at the intersection of Rt 28 & Viersmill rd & Rt 911 .The state hwy administration will hold a public hearing on July 19th at Rockville High School on this and this intersection alone ... 78 million Dollars to be spent to make upgrade to this problems ... others issues like road safety and pedestrian Issues that makes our community a great neighborhood to live in . @ Broadwood Dr..This intersection has Poor lighting; Vehicular speeds that are dangerously fast. Also this intersection is not a controlled intersection and has speeds of 35mph or greater thru a four lanes intersection.
@ Ardennes Ave....Here on the Veirsmill Rd south bound lanes has speeds greater then reasonable. An intersection that does not have a exiting or entering merge lane to the neighborhood this intersection is another that is Dark and Hazardous to the health of pedestrians crossing VeirsMill Rd. ((((keep in mind that we have had one Pedestrian KILLED in the year 2005 just below this location which was a hit & run accident.
@ Atlantic Ave***** a failed intersection)) by State Md standards many things have been tried here. This is the ONE Rockville’s most Dangerous& Hazardous Intersections still for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
*****Twinbrook Pkwy
@ Linthicum Ave..... Conditions are to fast for Vehicular and Pedestrians crossing of Twinbrook Pkwy Safety. This location was one which JBG was too install a circle or four way stop
@ Pinnberg Dr..... Again the same conditions here as Linthicum.
@ Meadow Hall Dr.. This intersection is too dark for speeds Greater then reasonable for those exiting traffic (((turning right from west bound traffic lanes to shopping ctr. Four way stop or circle was recommended
@Veirsmill Rd..... Again this is a Number 1 Priority & (failed intersection) by the State of Md Standards
@ Entrance to rec/center........ Traffic speeds too fast for the turning vehicles from Twinbrook Pkwy. Being that this entrance and exit is at the crest of a hill and has no designated turn lane or traffic light ((BUT does have the flashing pedestrian lights across Twinbrook Pkwy)))

@ Broadwood Dr.........This a three way stop. Somewhat visibility challenge .The many travelers that sometime act as they don’t even see stop signs. This is where we could use something like flashing lights or Strobe lights even the strips of reflective plastic that bring the whole stop sign in to site.
@ Thorden Rd......Same as Broadwood Dr
@Rockland Dr........ This has many things happening here, It’s a signed stop only for Rockland. But with speeds sometimes as fast as 50 an 60 mph on the Lewis Ave area often at 40 to 50mph at Down Hill speed This also has a pedestrian side walk that is dark and somewhat visibility challenge. Due to bushes and parked car’s along Lewis Ave walk way
@ Halpine .......This intersection has been visibility challenge due to poor lighting at the crosswalk and a stop sign. Located at a right and left turn stop intersection. Better lighting is needed as well as some type of flashing light for the Pedestrian Crosswalk
*** Grandin Ave
Between Clagget and Broadwood Dr ...........Clagett is the last stop before Broadwood Dr which is about a of a mile distance which vehicles can reach speeds of 25 to 60mph before slowing down or stopping. There are also two other streets that enter Grandin Ave. Before reaching stop sign at Broadwood Dr. Speed humps placement and police traffic patrols
@ Broadwood Dr Is another street that needs a four way stop at Broadwood and Grandin for the basic same reasons without a 4 way stop being placed at Grandin Ave & Broadwood Dr its at least a of a mile to reach speeds that become dangerous levels

@ Crawford Dr ..........This location was one to have placed a circle at which would help to slow down speeds as well as too cut thru traffic
@Stillwell Rd..........JBG was to have installed a Football thing??? That would merge and slow traffic and protect our Junior Citizens while hiking to and from school

@ Halpine Rd-- This is a four way stop that is completely dark and hazardous to pedestrian walking to and from metro. Here we had discussed a T-box be place here to eliminate cut thru traffic vehicular traffic would still be allowed to enter and exit just not to continue straight across Halpine or turn left at intersection on to Ardennes ave
*****Edmonston Dr All of the next issues could be relieved if the city would just cut off the left turn traffic light onto Edmonston Dr from North bound lanes of Veirsmill Rd
@ Wade Dr....We have discussed a 4 way stop and also a traffic circle.
The speeds are something that has been in constantly question specially sense this is such steep grade. Clearly we have been in favor of 4 way stops

This intersection represents our biggest challenge, Exiting and Entering our neighborhood day and night .We have often discussed anything form three way stop to circle even a traffic light. With very little hope or relief from the over 8600 cars & trucks that travel our little street each and day.
Many of our citizens not only drive in the traffic conditions but many others are the walkers!!! The pedestrian traffic that’s walking to School or Montgomery College even those walking to the Rockville Pike to catch the metro/ride ** ThankYou HarryW Thomas** Thank You for visiting
